In Sylvania, Georgia, a local man has succumbed to injuries following a collision between his motorcycle and an SUV on Lakeview Road. The Georgia State Patrol has confirmed that Alec Earl Lane, 47, passed away on Thursday after the accident that occurred the previous day.
According to Georgia State Patrol reports, at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Lane was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle southbound when an Isuzu SUV operated by 40-year-old Troy Lee Wilson crossed into his path. Wilson, who was driving northbound, was attempting a left turn onto Mallard Pond Road, resulting in a critical intersectional collision.
Sr. Trooper T. Strickland’s report indicated that after the collision, both vehicles came to a stop in the southbound lane of Lakeview Road. Lane, following the impact, was ejected onto the southern edge of Mallard Pond Road.
Lane received emergency medical attention at the scene and was transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center by Bulloch County EMS. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah for advanced care, where he later died.
As of the time of the report, no charges have been filed in relation to the tragic accident. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be provided pending the outcome of the inquiry by the authorities.
