LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. — In a tragic incident late Thursday night, a pedestrian lost their life after being struck by a vehicle in Liberty County, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
The accident occurred on Airport Road in the vicinity of State Route 196. Authorities report that a pedestrian, believed to have been under the influence of alcohol, entered the roadway in an area lacking proper illumination and was hit by an oncoming Dodge Ram truck.
Georgia State Patrol has disclosed that the pedestrian’s identity remains unverified at this time, and efforts to inform the next of kin are ongoing. Further investigation into the incident is underway as local law enforcement seeks to piece together the events leading to the fatal collision.
