In Alpharetta, Georgia, a fatal car accident claimed the lives of three teenagers and left two others injured on Westside Parkway. University of Georgia freshmen, 18-year-olds Sriya Avasarala and Anvi Sharma, along with Aryan Joshi, a senior at Alpharetta High School, succumbed to their injuries after their car veered off the road late Tuesday evening. The crash is currently under investigation, with authorities considering excessive speed as a possible factor.
The driver of the vehicle, Rithwak Somepalli, 18, a Georgia State University student, and another passenger, Mohammed Liyakath, also 18, were injured in the accident. Details regarding their condition have not been disclosed. Following the incident, the University of Georgia issued a statement of condolence to the families and loved ones of the victims during this challenging period.
At the University of Georgia campus, tributes pour in for the young lives lost. Avasarala’s dance team, known as Shikaari, described her as an exceptional dancer and friend with an unmatched sweet personality. Sharma, part of the UGA Kalakaar South Asian Fusion A Capella group, left a legacy with her infectious smile, spirit, and antics as her singing group pays homage to her memory.
