Atlanta, GA (June 23, 2024) – Tragedy struck on a Saturday night when a severe collision between a motorcycle and an SUV claimed a life and left two others with significant injuries. The incident took place at the intersection of Greenbriar Parkway and Continental Colony Parkway SW in Atlanta.
The motorcycle, driven by a 36-year-old male, was reportedly speeding southbound on Greenbriar Parkway when it collided with a Honda CR-V that was attempting a turn onto the parkway. As a result of the high-impact crash, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The force of the collision also left the motorcycle’s passenger in a critical condition, requiring immediate medical attention.
The driver of the Honda CR-V sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Details regarding the severity of those injuries and the current condition of the hospitalized individuals have not been disclosed.
Authorities are actively conducting an investigation to determine the exact circumstances leading up to the crash. Atlanta Police Department is appealing for witnesses to come forward to aid in piecing together what transpired on that fateful evening. As the probe continues, the stretch of road where the accident occurred was temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and preliminary examination of the site. Traffic flow resumed normal patterns once all necessary measures were taken.
