In a somber start to the day, a man’s life was claimed after being struck by a car in Atlanta. The tragedy occurred in the early hours of Friday morning at the intersection of Moreland Ave SE and McPherson Ave SE. The Atlanta Police Department, responding to the scene, discovered the victim had succumbed to his injuries. The incident took place at approximately 1:48 am on April 19, as noted in their official communication.
The preliminary findings by authorities indicate that the man, whose identity remains confidential, entered the intersection while a vehicle was travelling northbound. The driver, a woman, stayed at the scene following the accident and provided full cooperation to the officials. It is reported that she was driving through a green light when the pedestrian was hit. Despite quick response by emergency services, the man was found unresponsive and was declared dead on location by the Dekalb County Medical Examiner’s office.
