Car accident in Atlanta

On the afternoon of June 29, a serious traffic accident occurred on GA 365 South at the intersection with Demorest-Mt. Airy Highway, resulting in multiple injuries and significant disruption of traffic flow in the area.

The collision involved a church van belonging to River Point Community Church in Demorest and a Toyota 4-Runner. According to reports, a teenage boy was critically injured and airlifted to Egleston Hospital in Atlanta for immediate medical attention. At least seven other individuals were transported to the hospital by ambulance and private vehicles, with several more treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The church van was reportedly carrying members who had been preparing for a mission trip and were en route to the Chattahoochee River for a tubing excursion when the crash occurred. Witnesses at the scene captured the aftermath, showing both vehicles significantly damaged and emergency services at work.

Habersham County E-911 was alerted to the incident at 1:39 p.m., and the southbound lanes of the highway were closed for a few hours to facilitate an investigation by the authorities. Rob Moore, a spokesperson for Habersham County Emergency Services, provided details on the immediate response and the treatment of those injured in the incident.
