ATLANTA — A collision on Monday afternoon involving a MARTA bus and a car resulted in nine injuries. The incident occurred near the intersection of Interstate 20 West and Windsor Street, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).
The incident was reported around 2:20 p.m. after a vehicle failed to yield at an exit ramp. The GSP’s preliminary findings indicate that a silver Chevrolet Equinox, exiting I-20 west onto Windsor Street, collided with a southbound MARTA bus as the driver of the Equinox did not adhere to the right-of-way, striking the bus on its left front.
Nine bus passengers sustained injuries and were subsequently transported to Emory Midtown Hospital. The condition of the car’s driver has not been disclosed by officials. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
